A varied creative curriculum is promoted to students attending My Oasis, not only to those with a strong interest in art, music or performing arts, but also to all young people as a way of encouraging the expression of emotions when often they struggle to put into words and communicate how they feel. Our art and design curriculum allows students to investigate sources of ideas in art and design, explore and use various art materials and techniques, as well as explore 2D and 3D visual communication. In addition, students interested can further their talents or interest in music, whether that is by learning to play a musical instrument or by choosing it as an option of study for their GCSEs. One of our staff members currently plays for the famous band Foden’s and is keen to support any students who are interested.

We are currently expanding our creative curriculum to be able to offer more practical, design technology-based subjects such as textiles and food technology due to the feedback received from students about this.
