The Induction Process

Initial telephone call arranged with school, the student and their families to discuss their needs and to see if My Oasis is the right provision for them.

Separate visit to premises to look around both with and without other students there.

Any questions answered that students and their families may have, with information booklets provided on My Oasis and what it entails.

Referral form completed between student and their mainstream school, and/or their families.

Student and their families read the My Oasis Expectations and sign all relevant documentation, such as the behaviour code of conduct, mobile phone policy etc.

A health and safety briefing, plus a discussion of what to do in an emergency, will be carried out with each student on their first day of attending My Oasis.

A comprehensive mental health and behavioural assessments will be completed either before the young person starts or during the first few days of them doing so.

Within the first few weeks of attending a personalised learning plan will be completed which will outline the student’s learning needs, their strengths, as well as note goals for each young person to work towards.

PLPs and SMART Goals will be constantly be reviewed to ensure students are working towards their desired gaols.

Detailed reintegration plan will be developed with students to help them transition back into mainstream school.
